There Is Still Hope

Even though the DREAM Act failed to pass congress recently, I want to encourage everyone in support of this bill to not lose hope.

This is the beginning of a new year, and even though the Senate seats won't change until 2 years, the advocating can keep going until then. Advocating the DREAM Act during these two following years will only help insure that millions of more Americans know the true significance and importance of this bill. If the people against the bill all took a demographics course in between now and 2012, maybe it could help fix the bill to where both parties can reach a consensus, because the reality behind the bill will truly be visible once more immigrant generations start populating America.

Every year it seems like the bill is getting closer and closer to being passed, so all DREAMers must stick together and keep advocating.

  1. It's true that every year the Dream Act seems to become a bigger possibility and with the increase in immigrants ands their children, it is only a matter of time until this act or a similar one passes. We can't do much with elections at the moment like you said but that doesn't mean we can't be active. Yesterday you mentioned beginning the process of writing letter to congressmen...when do you plan on starting? You also mentioned having a circle ceremony in which you will talk about this bill, that would be a good experience I'm sure. Well I hope that your project turns out well man, talk to you some other time.

  2. Isn't a huge population of immigrants what so many people who oppose the bill are afraid of?
